Major & Certificate

Risk Management and Insurance Program

The University of Wisconsin RMI program is ranked the #2 risk & insurance program in the US. The RMI major encompasses a world-class education that prepares students to identify, analyze, and manage risks that are inherent in the operation of every profit and non-profit institution. The RMI major lends itself to a career in multiple industries, and is a popular double major for students in the Wisconsin School of Business. Additionally, there is now a certificate in RMI that allows students both inside and outside the school of business to explore risk management and insurance. The classwork for both major and certificate incorporates analytics, real-world applications, and conceptual components to prepare students for a successful career. Risk is involved in every decision and business endeavor, and having an understanding of how to approach risk is critical to success in every career path.
